Advanced Conflict Transformation

The Advanced Conflict Transformation (ACT) is a four week course that is organized by COPA. This course offers diverse aspects of conflict transformation and peace building. It is aimed at participants working in related fields on the African continent. Although reference is made to the impact of international political and economic events & trends on the continent, emphasis is placed on culturally sensitive and sustainable responses to regional and community conflicts in Africa.

The course is meant for practitioners and policy makers working in peace building, development, aid/relief, human rights, religious organizations, United Nations, governmental bodies and NGOs. Women and persons working or living in conflict areas are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Advanced Conflict Transformation (ACT) is now organized in four independent modules, each running for a period of one week. This will give participants a chance to organize their time according to their wish and schedule; participating in the full course or just one or more modules.

The next full ACT course will run from the 4th until the 29th May 2009. Deadline for applications is the 25th of April 2009.

Please find the prospectus and application form available for download here below. Should you have any questions in addition, feel free to contact Obby Chibuluma, regional coordinator for COPA Southern.
