The second training week of the Women Peace Leadership Programme (WPLP) took place in Nairobi, Kenya.
This was the second module of the three modules scheduled in the WPLP programme.
The training brought together a total of 25 women from Kenya, Uganda,
Sudan, Somalia and Ethiopia. The women were taken through sessions of training to empower them in peace leadership so that their voices can be heard and their roles in peace building can be recognized in their communities. The programme also included elements of sharing experiences, especially achievements realized after the first training, continued mentoring and future prospects of the women in their initiatives as peace builders.
The final module of this training is expected to take place in March 2010.
