Lobbying & advocacy

COPA links with organizations and individuals enhancing the same policy goals, with a view to strengthen lobbying and advocacy efforts and extend their impact. Moreover, COPA supports her members who engage in lobbying and advocacy themselves - from the community based grass roots level all the way up to the (inter)national level. COPA is always seeking opportunities to network with local and international bodies to continuously foment the vision of peace on the continent.

All issues that COPA advocates for are peace related. They include: the elimination of small arms, long lasting solutions to seemingly permanent conflicts (i.e. addressing the root causes of those conflicts), empowerment of women in conflict situations and the consolidation of local peace processes.
